About Melissa

I grew up in Stevens Point, Wisconsin and moved to the Indianapolis area almost 6 years ago with my husband and stepdaughter.  We also have a doggy in our family, a 5 year old black lab named Feynman (after the physicist).

I’m a Cofounder of Catalyst X-Change and I’m in charge of everything web-related, including supervising the development and design of our website and all of our social media.  I also assist with the creation, coordination, and facilitation of our trainings and technical assistance services.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2004 from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a Master’s degree in Social Work in 2009 from IUPUI.  I’ve worked in the nonprofit sector since 2002 in various areas including mental health, vocational rehabilitation, child and family case management, and policy/advocacy.

My blog postings focus mostly on social media and web-related issues, specifically focusing on helping nonprofits to better utilize the web/social media as part of their marketing plans.  Please feel free to email me at melissa@catalystxchange.org if you have questions/comments for me, or if you’d like to see a specific topic covered in our blog.
