One of our main goals for this month is to get a “snapshot” of the level of volunteering and involvement in the greater Indianapolis area (and Indiana as a whole, if we can!). We want to find out who is volunteering (and who isn’t), what kinds of things the different generations gravitate toward for involvement, and whether or not local employers are encouraging their employees to get involved and pursue volunteer opportunities.
The data that we collect will help us to ensure that our online space is providing relevant information and resources to Generations X, Y, and Z and will help us to reach out to employers to ensure that they are providing ample opportunities for young people to pursue their passions outside of the workplace. In addition, it will help us to assist nonprofits with retaining young professionals (as many of us choose nonprofit work as a way to promote world change).
